Become a Super Team Member!

Our Team Members are the people that make it a SUPER sale! The sale is growing bigger and bigger and we really need your help to have a successful sale. Every job is important, from the greeters to the sorters! There are a variety of ways you can help: set up, tear down, inspector, sorter, merchandiser, cashier or just helping customers during the event. Sorting is a fun group event at the end of the sale to get everyone's items ready for pickup. Most sorters return sale after sale to work this shift. Plus we provide you dinner.

View Schedule and Sign Up

Click the links below to view the work schedules and register for shifts. You can view the available shifts on the schedules before signing up.

The shifts don't become available until about a month and a half before the sale starts. There will be email and FB announcements to tell you the date the shift schedule opens.

You will receive an email confirmation about your shift(s) and can change your shift anytime up until the Saturday of drop-offs.

If the shift you want is full, check back later to see if someone cancelled their shift and a spot has opened.

To sign in:

  • Consignors: Log in with your consignor number and password.

Worker Reminders

  1. Please show up on time (preferably a couple minutes early) so that you can get familiar with the building and get oriented to your position. On busy days, you may be taking over for someone that needs to leave on time.

    • If you need to use the bathroom at the start of your shift, please come early enough to do this before your shift, and ask for instructions after you come back.

    • $15 no-show penalty. We have been super flexible in the past when a volunteer hasn’t shown up to work, but the rule has always been that a $15 fee will be charged, and this will now be enforced. If a schedule conflict comes up, please find a replacement volunteer. If a real emergency arises, please text Susan at 503-866-1875.

  2. There will be a sign-in book near the entrance for you to sign when you arrive so you will get credit for your work. Then check in with Susan or a Super Team Leader for specific job instructions (even if you are experienced and know what to do, it is good for us to know you are there).

    • Please put on a SuperKids apron or t-shirt so that customers can know who is working.

    • If at any time you are unsure of what to do, please find Susan for a new task. There is always something to be done!

  3. We will provide snacks and drinks for all workers in a dedicated break area (ask where it is).

    • Please limit your breaks to a reasonable time. If you are working 2 back to back shifts, you can take a break for a meal. If you brought something from home, we do have a small refrigerator and microwave you can use.

  4. Sign out at the end of your shift and return your shirt or apron.

Job Descriptions

When you sign up for a shift, you will also sign up for a job position. This way you have an idea of what you will be doing during the sale so you can jump right in when you arrive.

Setup and Tear Down: Do you love power tools? These shifts require lifting, carrying, building, and deconstructing racks and tables and displays. We love husbands for these shifts. You and your husband can work together too and count as 2 shifts (if you can find a babysitter!)

Inspector: Do you have a keen eye? Your job will be to quickly inspect all the clothing items that are dropped off for stains, rips, holes or overly worn. You will also check baby gear and toys to make sure they are in working order and have the parts and required batteries.

Runner: Want a little exercise? You will be on the move helping consignors put their items in the right place in the sale. Run if you want!

Merchandiser: Are you an organizer? Do you have OCD? Then this job is for you. The main duty of this position is to be out on the floor helping make the merchandise look better by organizing items and tidying up. This job also includes finding any tags that have fallen off and hopefully finding their matching item. You will also be a presence on the floor to discourage any shoplifting.

Greeter: Do you love people? With this job you will have the chance to talk to everyone that comes through the door! You will be greeting shoppers, making sure they have a shopping bag and letting them know where everything is located in the sale. This job is perfect if you are a mom with an infant (under 12 months) that you can hold in an infant carrier. Must be able to talk fast too!

Register: Do you love multi-tasking? With this job you will scan all the tags for the customer and will assist in collecting money and returning change all while answering all their SuperKids questions. You will also help with credit card transactions. Must get pre-approval from Susan or have previous SuperKids register experience.

Sorter: Are you up for a challenge? This position requires speed to quickly sort everyone’s stuff back into order by consignor number so that everyone can pick up their stuff quickly. You can make this a double shift by working 6.5 hours instead of 8 and dinner is included!

Hold Area: Can you keep track of a lot of things? This position takes items from shoppers that want to put them on hold. There is a hold tag to fill out and then the items are placed in an Hold Area for up to 2 hours. If the shopper goes over this time limit, then the items need to be returned back to the sales floor. Also this position helps with trying to match lost tags with the items they belong to.

Line Host: Do you like to be first in line? For this job, you stay at the front of the line during the busiest times to direct the shoppers to the next available checkout station. It is a little known fact, that once a shopper gets to the front of the line, they start looking around and not paying attention. So you are there to kindly push them along.

Worker FAQs

How long is a Work Shift?

Each shift is 4 hours long. Please arrive on time and stay the whole time. We do allow short breaks and have light snacks in our break room.

  • We are also flexible if you need to break up your shift into 2 parts. For example, if you need to leave a ½ hour early, you can make that ½ hour up another day. Please get approval from Susan first.

When can I sign up for Worker Shifts?

The Worker System is turned on approximately 1.5 months prior to each sale (an email will be sent out to the entire email list and posted on Facebook).

What do I need to do if I need to reschedule or cancel my shift?

If you do need to cancel or reschedule a shift, please log in to your consignor homepage and do so by the cancellation deadline, which is the Saturday before the sale. Please cancel as early as possible so someone else can pick up the shift.

  • If an emergency arises after the cancellation deadline and the sale has started and you cannot make your shift, please find someone to fill your shift.

  • In the rare event of an unavoidable family emergency, text Susan at 503-866-1875 to notify her.

  • If you are a “no-show”, don’t find a replacement, and don’t notify Susan, a $15 charge will be deducted from your check for each shift missed, so please consider your commitment carefully. You also may not be allowed to work at future sales. This policy has been created to maintain a high quality sale. If we don't have all the help we need, it lowers our customer service and hurts consignors and their sales.

Are my children allowed to join me during my shift?

No, since the team members are an important part of the success of the sale and the sale gets super busy, we need your full attention for your duties.

  • The one exception is if your child is not walking and can be worn in a carrier, you could do the Greeter shift.

  • If you are a nursing mom and need a break to pump or have someone bring your infant to you for nursing, let us know and you can take a break for this.

If your child is 18 years of age or older, you may have them work in your place. Please let Susan know they will be working in your place. Be sure and give their name along with the date/time of your shift.

Can someone take my place for a shift? Or can I work at the same time with someone to count as 2 shifts?

Yes, you can send your mother, your husband, your friend, or your 18+ year old child to work in your place. There is no need to tell us, unless you are sending your husband for a set up or tear down shift, or if you are sending your child.

Working with a second person can count as 2 shifts for your consignor number:

  • If you are doing the EXACT SAME shift and job description (such as both of you are sorters), then contact Susan and she can sign up the second person under your consignor number.

  • If you are doing the same shift, but with different job descriptions (i.e. one of you is an inspector and one of you is a runner), you can sign up for both of those shifts under your name.

What if I want to buy something during my shift?

If you happen to come across something you would like to buy during your shift, please wait until after your shift is over to purchase items. If space allows, we might have a hold area just for workers near the break area. If not, you can put it in the Hold Area and put your name on the Hold Ticket identifying yourself as a worker and when your shift ends.
